1. Who We Are
Trust Score Analyzer (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a website trust analysis tool operated by Steve Lichtman, accessible at trust-meter.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and name through Clerk, our authentication provider. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled entirely by Clerk.
Website Analysis Data
When you submit a URL for analysis, we fetch and analyze the publicly accessible HTML of that page. We store the resulting report (scores, findings, recommendations) associated with your account for up to 30 days. We do not store the raw HTML of analyzed websites.
Usage Data
We collect basic usage information including the URLs you analyze, timestamps, industry selections, and feature interactions (e.g., AI fix requests). This data helps us improve the product and is stored in Upstash Redis with automatic expiration.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details. Stripe may store billing information in accordance with their own privacy policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate trust score reports for URLs you submit
- To provide your report history and score trend in your dashboard
- To send monitoring alerts when a site you've opted into monitoring changes score
- To process subscription payments and manage your Pro plan
- To send transactional emails related to your account (report links, score alerts)
- To improve the accuracy and quality of our analysis engine
4. Leaderboard
By default, high-scoring analyses may be submitted to our public leaderboard, which displays domain names and scores. You can opt out of leaderboard inclusion from within any report. Opting out removes your entry from public display immediately.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers:
- Clerk — authentication and user management
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
- Upstash (Redis) — report storage and rate limiting
- Sender.net — transactional email delivery
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-generated copy fix suggestions (report content only, no personal data)
- Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions
6. Data Retention
- Reports — stored for 30 days, then automatically deleted
- Report history summaries — stored for up to 1 year in your account
- Account data — retained while your account is active; deleted upon request
- Monitoring data — retained while monitoring is enabled; deleted when you turn monitoring off
7. Cookies
We use cookies for session authentication (managed by Clerk) and referral tracking (a short-lived cookie set when you arrive via a referral link). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of the leaderboard at any time from within your report
- Disable monitoring at any time from your dashboard
To exercise these rights, email hello@trust-meter.com.
9. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to stored reports is restricted to the authenticated account that generated them. We do not expose raw user data between accounts. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.
10. Children
This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
